So many changes!

Sziasztok!temple walk (3)

So many things happened this weekend. Changes on changes on changes! First, my P-Day got changed to Monday! And since I emailed so recently I don’t really have much to say. So this will just be a short email! My branch president got released yesterday and we were all really upset about that! He and his wife are two of the sweetest people that I have ever met and they truly changed my life. I was so lucky to have them, even if it was only for a short 4 weeks. rogers
We met the new branch president yesterday and oh my, he and his wife are so cool! They just got back from their mission to the West Indies and they know a little Dutch. Also we met the Dutch sisters that are being moved into our zone. They are so sweet and we are so excited to have them. They came in after us and they leave 2 weeks before us. People and workers are starting to ask us…you’re still here? And we are just like “Yup…for another 5 weeks”! Can you even believe I’ve almost hit the one month mark!? What the?! If it all goes by this quickly I am in major trouble because I can already tell I will NOT want to come home at the end of it all.

Something that I learned this weekend is that I have a real problem believing in myself! As if I didn’t know that already! Hahaha! But anyways I never volunteer in class to write on the board or anything because I am so afraid to look dumb or to write something wrong! But we were learning past tense this week and we translated like 10 sentences. Robinson Testver asked me to come do one and I said no and then I ended up translating them all perfectly! I felt so annoyed at myself. I really thought I didn’t have any of them but I actually had ALL of them. We watched a video about how to learn the language and you first need to make 30,000 mistakes! You are the one that decides how long it takes for you to make all those mistakes though. So I decided on a good goal for this week: I am not going to think anything about myself that would tear me down, and I will just open my mouth with the language. I’m going to make mistakes and try my very best not to be embarrassed by them. I feel like that’s the only way to truly learn this language!conjugations (1)

With that though, this week came with a HUGE jump with the language. We find ourselves using Hungarian words and phrases without even thinking about it/knowing it, which is so cool! I do feel the gift of tongues, and we are working so hard every day to be worthy of it. Please keep the prayers coming though!

The windows here are all welded shut, which is a little depressing, but we decided that it is probably for the best if you know what I mean…us being so frustrated up on the fifth floor and all…Csak vit!

The normal way to speak in Hungarian is double negatives. So “I didn’t see no one” actually means “I didn’t see anyone”. Some things in this language just plain don’t make sense, but I think that is what makes it so fun.

People always ask Roche Nover and I if we are related, because they see our name tags and think we have the same last name. If I had a dollar for every time we had to explain that in Hungarian Sister comes after our last name…

That’s it for this week! I love you guys so much and I think about you and pray for you daily!

Csinalhatok nehez dolgokat!

Sok szeretettel,

Mason Nover
