A trip to Szeged

Hey hey hey!

Hope everyone had a great week! I felt so loved today when I opened up my inbox to a ton of emails! These last two weeks have been pretty hard to be completely honest, but I gain so much strength through reading your kind words to me! So thanks for all the love 🙂

Monday: After emailing, my companion let me dye her hair!! So that was super fun and I can’t believe she trusted me to do it! But we did it and it looks super good. Just a little darker than it was before.

Tuesday: We had a really good lesson with a lady named Márta. We talked about Joseph Smith a lot and she had a lot of questions about how it is possible to believe in God when there are so many horrible things happening in the world around us. We shared Ether 12:4 and shared our testimonies with her…that through our faith and hope in Christ we can hope for a better world! And that God loves ALL of His children. When I have the opportunity to share my testimony…which is a lot!!…I can feel it getting more and more solid and strong! Which is the most amazing feeling.

Wednesday: Zone training!!! Which means I got to see Sister Gertsch!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best day. So blessed to be in the same zone. So we got to take a trip down to Szeged (the most beautiful place I have ever been!!) and meet up with other missionaries and get a training about how to better use the Book of Mormon in our work. It was so great and I felt really uplifted and motivated afterwards!! We were challenged to read five pages from the Book of Mormon every day, highlighting every time it references Christ, talks about one of his attributes, his words, and doctrines and principles contained in it. It was been a really cool experience so far!! I really urge you all to do it!!

Thursday: We got to visit a member named Erzsi Néni…she is just the cutest thing!!! She told us all about her conversion story and she even showed us this cute reading calendar that the elders who taught her made for her about 5 years ago. SO CUTE!! and then we had our first lesson with an online referral, Boglárka (or Bogi). She is the cutest 18 year old. She saw a youtube video about Mormons and she went on lds.org and requested to be visited by the missionaries ASAP. She was super interested all about Joseph Smith and the restoration. I am really excited about this girl!! I really think that this will go somewhere which is very exciting 🙂 Then we had to go figure out more hivatal (residency) stuff. My residency card was rejected…so it has been fun trying to figure all of this out.

Friday: Rainy day! We met with Gyöngyi and she accepted to live the Word of Wisdom!!!! Which is HUGE for her!! I don’t know if I wrote about this last week, but we asked her to think and pray about baptism and she said she wouldn’t because we talk too much about happy families…still trying to work that one out.

Saturday: Tracting all day!! WOOT WOOT!!

Sunday: A chill Sunday! Also here in Hungary it was Mothers Day! So we got the cutest pink roses at church because they said that we would be mothers someday 🙂 so cute. We got to visit Sándor and talk more about his baptism and we read a great talk from last Easter’s conference by Elder Holland. Which we all loved!!

Monday: Just some grocery shopping and cleaning today! We really needed a nice, mellow PDay this week.

Randoms:

We went to visit Lászlo (a super lonely bácsi) on Saturday and he realized after talking our ears off for about 45 minutes that we are in fact NOT Hungarians!! HAHA it was super funny.

Found out that we actually got a weird bacteria food poisoning so it wasn’t just the stomach flu we had last week…

Getting off the bus to go emailing today my skirt got stuck on a guys lap and I flashed the whole bus so that was cool…

This week was rainy and kind of sad…but I felt very determined after zone training to be the best missionary Szolnok has ever seen! haha okay, I know that’s not possible, but I am sure going to try!!! I have felt so much love from my Savior as I am more earnestly studying the Book of Mormon and looking for the Savior’s hand in my life. Doing these things will make you more happy than you could even imagine… so do it!!

Love you lots. Have the happiest week!!

sok szeretettel,

Mason Nővér
