halfway to halfway!

Sziasztok!

I hope everyone had a great week! My week was rather uneventful, so sorry if this is the most boring missionary email ever.

Monday: After emailing I made sweet and sour citrus chicken stir fry for dinner! So that was great! And then we went tracting and had a pretty uneventful Monday night.

Tuesday: We got to meet with Gyöngyi and Kornél, and we had great lessons with both of them. About the Gospel of Jesus Christ and tithing (you have no idea how long it just took me to figure out how to say those two things in english!! haha!!). It was really sad though, because when we were teaching Gyöngyi about baptism she said she wont ever be baptized because at our church they only talk about happy families and living with your family forever, and she doesn’t feel like she has a happy family. We didn’t know how to respond to that, and honestly I felt kind of awful inside!! Then we tracted into the cutest 16 year old girl, and met with our very kind landlord to get her to sign some stuff for my residency card! We keep having a lot of problems with it and joke around that they will probably just send me back to America soon if it doesn’t work out! so mom, don’t be surprised when I come knocking on the door! haha!

Wednesday: We went to Budapest for splits! We had a fun day of tracting! haha and then the elders did a self defense class because the Buda sisters got followed a few weeks ago. It was hilarious and so much fun! We feel ready to take down anyone in our path. Also Smith and Layton Nővér slept at the STLs apartment too because they were up in Buda for some medical stuff. So it was a crazy sleepover that night! Just kidding we were very obedient and went to bed at 10:30 😉

Thursday: We did our studies with the STLs and headed back to Szolnok. We had a little bit of a wait until out train got in so we grabbed some lunch at Westend, and we found some macarons!! buli!! Then we got home, tracted, and went to visit Sándor in the hospital for the last time because he got to go home over the weekend!!DSCN1560DSCN1562DSCN1563

Friday: I got the stomach flu. NOT FUN. In the afternoon I felt a lot better and I really wanted to get out of the house so we decided to go tracting, which is always a blast!! While I was sleeping Greenwood Nővér cleaned the kitchen and I was so excited about it when I woke up! She is so great!

Saturday: My dear companion go the stomach flu! Also not fun. We had a really busy day though, with lots of things that we couldn’t cancel, so I felt really bad for her! We met with Anita and Polett, and Polett of course took us to a cukrászda afterwards. She has so many crazy hard questions for us!! We try our best to answer them. And we reassure her that questions are good, because that means she is thinking about these things for herself, and she really is learning and growing a lot! Love her. And then we had a missionary meeting at Gábor and Anitas house, and they talked to us about planning a time to skype with our families in TWO WEEKS for Mother’s Day!!! I seriously cannot wait!!DSCN1568

Sunday: Can you believe that Sunday was my 1/4 mark!! What the heck!? also Church!! and we got to watch the Sunday Afternoon session of conference for Sunday School and Relief Society. It was great…but to be honest I really didn’t get anything out of it because it was all in Hungarian. I could tell that Elder Holland’s talk was great though… I really want to print that out and read it soon!! Too bad these printers at this library don’t really work 🙁 We had a district dinner too, which was so yummy! and then we went tracting 🙂 my fave.

No randoms or funny things for this week… Sorry!!!!

This week I have felt the reality of the atonement in my every day life. As I strive to utilize it each and every day, and try to be more like my Savior each day, I can feel God’s lifting arm and His strengthening hand. I know that He is with me every step of the way on this crazy journey as a missionary, and I know that he won’t leave me alone, because that is simply not in His nature. I love my Savior and I love this gospel. I love being a missionary!!

Have a great week and remember that you are loved!

sok szeretettel,

Mason Nővér
