When you put two greenies together…

Hello!!

This week was super, super good. I love my new companion, Greenwood Nővér, so stinking much. We just laugh 24/7 and that helps to keep us both sane and happy! I really think that this will be an amazing transfer! So this week…

Tuesday: After we emailed we went over to Gábor and Anitas house and they made dinner for us! Super good fruit soup, this yummy pork and rice thing, and palacsintas!! (they’re like crepes) we had so much fun and we LOVE going to their house. They are so kind and fun.

Wednesday: The big day! We got all of Withers Nővérs bags all packed up and ready, and then said our last comp prayer!! It was so sad and I’m not gonna lie, I cried a little. But I was trying to just live in the present and not worry about missing my old companion, because I was on my way to meet a great NEW companion. Transfers were so fun because I got to see all of my missionary friends from the MTC and other people I have just heard lots of fun stories about and stuff from other missionaries here. Then I met Greenwood Nővér, and hopped on a train back to Szolnok! Dang I love my new comp!! She is so funny and we are always laughing and I can really tell this will be a really fun transfer. We are both very young, and she is only one transfer above me. So a lot of funny language mistakes and other things have already happened, but it is so good.

Thursday: We got to meet the elders for lunch! OH MY our new greenie elder is so fun!! We love him and he really makes the district laugh a lot. Again, I feel really good about this transfer!! Then we got to go see Sándor in the hospital again, which was great of course, and he really likes Greenwood Nővér too, so that made me very happy!!

Friday: We met with someone named Léna, and she sits down at the table and goes…”Okay, so for our program today, I wanted to talk about…” and then she proceeds to pull out a medicine catalogue thing called Forever Young and starts trying to sell us all of these pills and stuff! I think she thinks that she streeted into us, when really we asked to meet with her so we could talk about the Book of Mormon! It was really funny though and made for a good laugh. Then we just tracted and then introduced Greenwood Nővér to Polett!! That was a great lesson. We read Alma 32 about faith being like a seed and Polett liked it a lot 🙂 Then of course she took us out to the cutest cukrászda and talked about everything!! Love her so much. Can’t imagine ever leaving this city.

Saturday: We played soccer for sportnap with the elders and some branch members wich was super fun, and then we had a missionary meeting with Gábor and helped the Relief Society to make the little cookie in a jar mixes that they will be giving out for a branch house open house that is coming up in a few weeks. So excited for that! Then while we were tracting we had the cutest let in. It was the oldest couple and they were so kind and just adorable!!! Hungarian nénis and bácsis are my favorite people in this whole world I think.

Sunday: We went to church which was great of course!! There ws a little bit of drama though, and without going into too much detail, a member kind of chewed us out. I was really upset afterwards, because I know that if I knew this language better I would have been able to clear up the misunderstanding!! and then we met Sándor again and shared a great Liahóna talk about being accepted by God and not man. He really liked that 🙂 and then we went tracting and this lady that was gardening started screaming at us so loudly that no one cares about us here and that no one wants to here our message, and that we need to go back to America because we don’t know how to speak Hungarian. I was really upset after that too, and I was just feeling really down about myself and about our day. And then I ripped my favorite skirt!!! But then on the way home from tracting, we saw the most beautiful sunset I think that I have ever seen, and at the same time we also got a text from one of our favorite members, Ircsi. She said that she hoped that I was happy because she loves me a lot and that she is so grateful that I am here serving a mission in Hungary, and especially in Szolnok. I lost it! You guys, God is SO aware of us. He knows exactly what we are going through and what we need! I know that He sent me that beautiful sunset and that He prompted Ircsi to send me that amazing text. I AM SO BLESSED!!

Monday: We took our new companions sightseeing around beautiful Szolnok after grocery shopping at the one and only AUCHAN!!!! I love Auchan. Best grocery store! I FOUND ORANGINA there today!!! I have been looking for it EVERYWHERE since I got here. Tender mercies, man.

Randoms:

We had a little old lady get mad at us when we were csengőing everyone (ringing doorbells) trying to get into a building. And she was like see I will show you, no one is home!!! And she starts ringing every csengő and she is like freaking out and it took everything in my power not to have a laugh attack.

We got a let in one day while tracting… and this super crazy old lady is literally trying to get us to marry her son so that he can come to America!! It was the funniest thing and we were just like… okay well we have to go teach people about this book…so do you want one or what?? And she was like OH NO I do NOT want one of those. BUT MY SON DOES and she like shoves it in his hands and it was strangely uncomfortable ahaha and then we got out of there real fast.

Also the let in that we had with the cutest old people… we tried to share Ether 12:4 with him…but he stinking reads us the whole chapter!! Every time he finishes a verse we tried to start talking about what the scriptures were saying, but he just kept going!! This guy would not stop!! It was so funny. And then they were crying and saying that they know that we were sent to them by God and stuff, so that was cool!! We are going to try to go visit them again this week sometime.

Coming on a mission is truly the greatest sacrifice and the biggest blessing I think that I could ever make/get. Everyday and I am building and I have never felt so many emotions and spiritual moments and everything!! I am so grateful for everything in my life! This week I have really felt just how aware God is of me at this time. I am so thankful for the knowledge of a loving Heavenly Father!! Try to notice a miracle every day this week! It might not seem like there is a miracle in every day…especially the hard ones, but I promise you, they are there!! As I have tried looking for them I have been so much happier and have grown my faith in Christ. Which Is the most important thing, because faith leads us to action. And action leads us to change!!

I love you all so much and I am so grateful to have you in my life!!

sok szeretettel,

Mason Nővér
