A Week of Fun Field Trips!

Hállo, Szia!

We had a fun filled week this week and I feel like I was just emailing yesterday!! But again, my brain is kind of everywhere, so this email is going to be random and very out of order probably!! Bosci!! Sorry!!

Tuesday: We met with József, one of our progessings! He is such a great guy. He is very interested in the church, and we have met with him so much that we have already taught him all of the lessons twice! He is having a hard time with getting a desire to stop smoking though…so we are working on that. Then we met with Lilli. She is my favorite person!!! I love teaching her because she is a 14 year old girl, and teaching her reminds me a lot of how my mom would have been as a 15 year old girl learning about the church in Switzerland.

Wednesday: Splits in BUDA with the Sister Training Leaders. It was so much fun!! I got to go with Sister Hawker. She is so cute and full of energy and I loved her a lot! We had my first dinner in a members home that night!! it was so delicious. Some kind of soup! And then we went on a little field trip and she took me to see the parliament all lit up at night! It was so beautiful and I just had a really good feeling when I looked at it! Like this is really where I am supposed to be right now.

Thursday: We finished up splits with a trip to Gringos Amigos. MEXICAN FOOD!!! I was so excited and it was probably really embarrassing with how much I was enjoying this food! It was so worth it though.

Friday: A trip to Kecskemét (catch-kem-mate). Which literally means Goat-ville. WHAT!!? Coolest city name ever!! We had interviews with Preisdent Szabadkai there, and he took our district out to lunch after. I love him and his wife dearly and they are the most amazing examples to me!! When we got back to good ole Szolnok, we had a lesson with Polett. We taught her about tithing, and we were really nervous because she told us before that she had a little bit of a problem with it. But the lesson went so well, and she told us that she was really ready to make a change in her life!! And we are ready to help 🙂 Afterwards she took us to get hot chocolate. We went to a special place that makes it with rice milk!! So I got to try it and it was great. Hungarian hot chocolate is more like a pudding, and you eat it with a spoon!! So stinking good!!

Saturday: District meeting day!! Which are always the best. Also, something really scary happened. I wasn’t going to say this, because I don’t want anyone worrying about me…(mom!!) but oh well i am going to write about it anyways. When we were tracting we got a let in and we were so excited because that never happens to us!! The guy lead us inside and told us to sit on the couch. There were 3 big scary men and lots of alcohol in that room and they kept asking if we wanted a beer or a cigarette. I did not have a good feeling about being in that house so I pretended that we got a phone call so we could leave!! Needless to say I gave my comp a good talking to and I told her I was never going into a house where a man invited us in ever again!!!!! That night the Szabadkais came do have a little fireside thing. It was great, even thought I think that I only understood like 10 words out of the whole thing. Just listen to the spirit, am I right?

Sunday: was just a normal day with church and more tracting!! Yaaayyyyyyy!

Funny things…

I ordered a pizza with pepperonis. But apparently here pepperonis are the spiciest peppers ever!!!!!!!!!!! And we were with President so I had to eat it and my mouth was on fire and I thought I was going to die. For real.

I decorated my planner this week!! It is so cute and happy! Mom, keep sending the happy mail so I have things to decorate my planners with!!

I can’t read Hungarian handwriting. It is all the same and it is SO hard to read!!!! It literally looks like little kids doodles!! It is so bubbly and cursive-y!

Reading letters and emails people have sent me in the past brings me so much comfort. So thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement! Like I have said before, these last few weeks have been really emotionally, physically, and spiritually draining. But I have found an incredible amount of comfort through prayer. I love knowing that my Heavenly Father is always there, waiting to hear from me!! We can tell Him all about everything that is happening in our lives, and He will never fail to listen to us. That is so comforting to me!! He is the one person that I can ALWAYS count on.

Sok szeretettel,

Mason Nővér
