I love Szeged.

Sziasztok!!

I hope everyone had the best week. Mine was uneventful but still a really good week. I just love this place and my companion. I really hope we don’t get split up because next week is transfers! The dream would be to just stay here together. Praying haha!

Okay honestly…NOTHING happened this week. Like no lessons, no nothing. So this email will all just be randoms!! haha here we go.

We got to try a new salad place that actually has food that I can eat! And it was delicious and I loved every second of it. And the best part is that a huge salad costs 1000 forint. Which is about $3.50. Sooooo yes happy happy!

We found a little fruit stand with the most delicious and HUGE peaches ever.

We tracted into someone whose door said batmanné (instead of changing their last name when they get married here, the wife changes her first name to her husband’s first name and adds né on the end.) We thought it was just a coincidence, but the lady that answered was wearing this huge batman robe and I died laughing. Highlight of the week probably.

We decorated new planners for next transfer. Woot woot!

We also tracted into a house that said Szabkai József. (That’s my mission president’s name) and sadly the man wasn’t interested haha!

We had two invesigators try to give us back A Mormon Könyve and said they wanted to stop meeting with us. And we would not take the book back hahaha!

I was really sick all day on Saturday so that was sad. But we went through the ENTIRE area book and found records all the way back from 2000! And we set up a lot of lessons for next week. Hopefully those go through.

It hasn’t been so hot this week so that’s a csoda! (miracle)

Next Pday wont be until Tuesday…and then I will be able to tell you about our transfer calls!!

There was an American couple at church, and the wife reminded me of Liz Lattin SO MUCH!! Talking to her felt like I was back in Young Women’s and it was the strangest feeling. i was pretty sentimental for the rest of the day haha.

So moving is a no go… that was rough.

We all get to go to the Freiberg temple rededication in Budapest in one month. I am so stinking excited for that!!!!

The Olympics are going wild here in Szeged…I’m not trunky though…I promise…

So to be honest, I’m a little teary eyed right now because of the slow week and a LOT of news I got when I opened my email inbox this afternoon. Ha én megmondom öszintén…(if I say it sincerely) feeling like you’re missing out of cool things at home while having a hard week with no investigators… it’s a little rough on the heart! But I am feeling peace in my soul that God has perfect timing. He knows where we all need to be, and what we need at what time. The mission is really teaching me to accept His will. And really, His plans always turn out much better than mine do. I am really grateful for that. So don’t be afraid to trust God. It’s okay to be a human and be sad when things don’t work out your way, but I know that when we keep looking at things with perspective, we will be so blessed.

That reminds me of something else! I was thinking this week about when I didn’t get into BYU about 2 1/2 years ago. I WAS HEARTBROKEN. I kinda felt like I had everything ripped out from under me. That was hard. BUT now that I am looking at it from this side, I know that if I had gotten into BYU in the first place, I would NOT be here on a mission today. Now, I am so so so grateful that God didn’t give me what I wanted. He knew that this would be better. He knew that this would be PERFECT. I am so grateful for that experience that taught me to always remember that God can see my whole picture.

Well I’m sorry I really don’t have any crazy cool spiritual insight or miracle stories for you this week but sometimes you just have weeks like this one. All is well here in Szeged. 🙂

sok szeretettel,

Mason Nővér
